2019 Oscars show off classic and modern styles

The 2019 Academy Awards season finally drew a close Sunday night in the city of angels. This year’s awards were hosted at the Dolby Theatre which gathered hundreds of celebrities and socialites to spend a glamorous night out.

All of the stars dressed to impress in extravagant gowns and outfits that will be remembered forever. Classic looks all the way to outside the box which makes watching the award show red carpet so entertaining. Here is a closer look into a few of this years red carpet looks.

Lady Gaga wore a classic black strapless gown designed by Alexander McQueen while wearing a $30 million diamond necklace from Tiffany & Co. that was last worn by Audrey Hepburn.

Sarah Paulson was in a light fuchsia gown designed by Brandon Maxwell. The dress was finished off with two slits in the side, which was an interesting look and she somehow pulled it off.

Jennifer Lopez was a show stopper in her mirrored silver dress made by Tom Ford, where it looks like you are really looking into a broken mirror. Her date Alex Rodriguez also wore Tom Ford, a classic white suit with a black bow tie and black slacks pairing very nicely with her look.  

Olivia Colman, who took home the Oscar for Best Actress for her role in the movie “Favourite,” looked stunning in a green gown with a black wrap that was made by Prada. Meanwhile Best Supporting Actress, Regina King, looked glowing in her white gown with a beautiful slit showing of her leg.

Jessica Oyelowo looked breathtaking in her off the shoulder galaxy gown with a mix is dark blues and silver, this was the perfect fit for her.

Rachel Weisz was in a bright red gown made by Givenchy Couture; this color was a statement and she looked like this dress was made for her. Jennifer Hudson also looked beautiful in her red statement gown, it fell in all the right places, this look was perfect for her.

Kelly Ripa looked like a princess in her gray and black accent ball gown with a deep V-neck line.

Amy Adams looked like a mermaid in her gown, the white accents on her dress looked like a modern-day Ariel.   

Hannah Beachler wore an orange one shoulder gown with ruffles and a slit up the leg.

Michelle Yeoh’s gown was one for the books, the stunning champagne color gown with the colored accents made this gown a memorable one.

Marina de Tavira was in a red off the shoulder gown with a ruffled skirt, which was the perfect color and fit for her.

Emilia Clarke was a show-stopper in her lilac purple fitted gown.

The red carpet looks go on and on, each celebrity is able to express themselves in their own style and that is why it is so entertaining to see who shows up in what. Now we have to wait a whole year for the next one.
