Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Environmental Scientist for employment in the Clifton, NJ office. AECOM is pleased to include you in a unique development opportunity, the Graduate Development Program (GDP). This program is designed to support your assimilation into the organization and assist with creating a foundation of knowledge for a successful career at AECOM. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance support to various clients

  • Be involved in a variety of tasks required in the environmental compliance projects, many focused on compliance planning to meet local, New Jersey and Federal regulatory requirements

  • Performing EHS compliance audits

  • Compliance monitoring reporting, to include water, waste, and air emission calculations and regulatory analysis

  • Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.

  • Collects and enters data, and applies technical principles and theories.

  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.

  • Entry-level position; may not require previous experience.

  • Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or related field

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Previous report writing experience

  • Familiarity with New Jersey and Federal regulatory requirements

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
