While several Roadrunner teams, including baseball, softball, lacrosse and tennis, made trips over spring break to compete in various tournaments, the men’s volleyball team continued their winning ways with five Skyline Conference victories.

Ramapo extended their Skyline Conference winning streak to 10 games as they prepare for the biggest game on the regular season schedule against Kean University on Wednesday night.

On March 12, the Roadrunners played their first of two matches against Sarah Lawrence College. The Roadrunners swept both games, including a (25-0, 25-13, 25-2) win on March 12 and a (25-5, 25-11, 25-12) decision on Saturday.

The Roadrunners continued right where they left off in their second match on Saturday against New Jersey City University, with a hard-fought (25-21, 27-25, 25-22) victory.

On Sunday, the team traveled to Purchase, NY for two more Conference games against Purchase College and the Sage Colleges. The Roadrunners handled the Panthers and the Gators in three sets, each with a (25-15, 25-9, 25,18) decision against Purchase and a (25-18, 25-18, 25-23) win against the Sage Colleges.

With the wins, the Roadrunners extend their winning streak in the Conference to 10 games, beginning back in Feb. 15, the same day the Roadrunners started their season with a double header against Kean University and Yeshiva University.

After losing the first game to Kean, the Roadrunners swept Yeshiva and never looked back. They won each game of the 10-game winning streak in a 3-0 decision, carrying them towards the top of the Conference.

The Roadrunners are now second in the Skyline Conference with a 10-1 record behind Kean who is 8-0.

Ramapo will have a chance to, not only continue their current run, but to take first place in the Conference in their next match when they host Kean on Wednesday.

This is the last meeting of the two teams during the regular season, though it would not be a surprise to see the two squads meet again in the Skyline Conference Tournament Championship.

No other team has shown the dominance that Kean and Ramapo have displayed over their opponents this season. Mount Saint Vincent is currently the No. 3 team in the Conference with a 7-5 record.

Kean defeated the Roadrunners last year to take the title, and the Roadrunners will have another chance to avenge that loss and take first place in the Conference on Wednesday.

The Roadrunners' last win against Kean came in a 3-1 (25-23, 16-25, 25-19, 25-17) decision on Feb. 3, 2013.
