Deadline Approaching for the Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship Program

The deadline to apply for a fellowship from The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi is April 15, 2019. Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, will award two fellowships of $35,000 each, six fellowships of $20,000 each, and 50 fellowships of $8,500 each to students nationwide.

Since its creation in 1932, the Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship has become the Society’s signature award, allocating $615,000 annually to deserving students for first-year graduate or professional study. The competition is open to all active Phi Kappa Phi members who have applied to enroll as a full-time student in a post-baccalaureate program of study during the upcoming academic year.

“I am honored to have been selected as a recipient of the Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship,” said Phoebe Stark, recipient of a 2018 Fellowship. “The funding provided through the Fellowship program will contribute toward my education at the University of California School of Medicine and the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Phi Kappa Phi has enriched my life, helped further my medical education, and allowed me to make an impact in the health of patients in my future career as a physician.”

The selection process for a Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship is based on the applicant’s evidence of graduate potential, undergraduate academic achievement, service and leadership experience, letters of recommendation, personal statement of educational perspective and career goals, and acceptance at an approved graduate or professional program.

Phi Kappa Phi Fellowships are part of the Society’s robust award programs, which give nearly $1 million each year to outstanding students and members through study abroad grants, graduate fellowships, funding for post-baccalaureate development, member and chapter awards, and grants for local, national and international literacy initiatives.

Each active Phi Kappa Phi chapter may submit one candidate from among its local applicants to compete Society-wide for a fellowship. The national deadline for chapters to submit an applicant is April 15, 2019. Chapter deadlines vary.
