The men's volleyball team suffered a tough defeat to Skyline Conference rival Kean University on Tuesday night.
Prime seeding rested in the balance as two of the conference's titans faced off to conclude the home portion of Ramapo's regular season. The two squads stood neck-and-neck after four tightly-contested sets, bringing them down to the wire in a fifth and final set. Kean slipped past Ramapo to win the tiebreaker, 15-13, and leapfrog the Roadrunners in the standings.
The Cougars improved to 19-8 with a 10-1 record in conference play while the Roadrunners dropped to 18-8 overall, sporting a 10-2 conference record.
Junior Nick Hrehovcik led Ramapo with 17 kills, and fellow junior Chris Sidnam trailed with 13. In what could be their last game at the Bradley Center, senior Andrew Balint recorded 11 kills while senior Harsh Prajapati notched 48 assists.
The Roadrunners will return to action on Saturday when they will compete against NYU-Poly and The Sage Colleges at the Skyline Dual in Purchase, N.Y.
