Theater Honor Society Hosts Open Mic Night

The final Cafe Adler of the semester took place last night at 9 p.m. in the Berrie Center. Craig Wolfe is the vice president of Alpha Psi Omega theater honor society, the group responsible for organizing the event.

“I thought [tonight’s event] was great,” Wolfe said.

There were almost 20 performers with acts ranging from singing to comedy, with some performers choosing to combine both. Students performed covers of songs, including renditions of “Tribute” by Tenacious D and “For Good” from the musical “Wicked.”

Freshman Emma Munro performed an original song entitled “Curse.”

“I went to Cafe Adler because they’re always a good time and it’s a great chance to see some people show talents they might not have the chance to show anywhere else at Ramapo,” Munro said. “I thought the event went really well and it was a great way to start the end of the semester and say goodbye to all the seniors.”

A group of seniors performed the song “Seasons of Love” from the musical “Rent” as the closing song.

“People were showing a lot of emotion and I think one reason could be that it is getting pretty close to the end and a lot of people are graduating this year, so it was nice to have some really great bonding moments tonight,” Wolfe said. “As far as the future goes, there won’t be another one this semester. But as far as next year, it all depends on what Ramapo’s students bring to the table. Ramapo’s students always put on great shows, so I have no doubt the following shows will be either just as or more awesome
