Assemblyman Eustace Chosen as Commencement Speaker

The Office of the President has announced this year's commencement speaker will be Assemblyman Timothy Eustace, a Ramapo graduate and the first out gay man elected to the New Jersey state assembly.

Eustace graduated from Ramapo College in 1978 with a degree in psychology. He then received a degree from Pennsylvania College of Chiropractic in 1985 and has been in private practice since 1986.

Eustace, of Maywood, is a Democrat serving the 38th legislative district and was elected in 2011.

Eustace and his partner Kevin, also a Ramapo alum, run a charity that builds school in Kenya. Together, the couple have adopted children and have also fostered children.

The 2013 commencement ceremony will be held on Friday, May 17 at 10 a.m. in the Izod Center (East Rutherford). Senior Ellen Grocela, of Westwood, has been selected as the student speaker.
