Women’s Soccer Defeated by Saint Joseph’s Golden Eagles

The Ramapo College women’s soccer team fell to the Saint Joseph’s College Long Island Golden Eagles by a 2-0 score on Saturday. The Roadrunners are now 1-5 in the season, and have lost their last three games.

St. Joseph’s scored once in the first half and once in the second half, relying on sophomore goalie Cristina Votta to preserve the win. Votta made nine saves throughout the game, including five in the first half.

Ramapo junior and goalie Itati Aburto was beaten by Fairleigh Dickenson University sophomores Joann Murino 26:17 into the game and Jamianne Eden at the 69:22 mark.

This game marks the third in a row that the Roadrunners were held off the scoreboard. They were previously defeated by Drew University 1-0 in overtime on Sept. 8 and by the Stevens Institute of Technology 5-0 on Sept. 11.
