Sexual Assault Reported in Bischoff Hall

On Sunday, Nov. 22 a sexual assault was reported to have occurred in Bischoff Hall in the early hours of the morning. The Office of Public Safety was notified and the matter is currently being investigated by law enforcement. Students received a Timely Warning email notifying them of the assault that day.

In response, the Student Government Association released a statement notifying students that they are aware of the situation and are working to making the campus a safer place for students.

“The SGA has, in the past, promoted campaigns to assist in preventing sexual assault and we continue to support a safe, welcoming campus environment for all,” said the statement. “We will be continuing our It's On Us: RamaPledge campaign and we encourage all in our Ramapo community to take part, sign the pledge and work together to end sexual assault. This is going to remain atop the SGA's list of priorities moving forward.”

The Timely Warning included resources for students who have been sexually assaulted. Students can report to Public Safety, the Mahwah Police Department or the Title IX coordinator. Students in need of immediate assistance can call counseling services during their business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or Public Safety for any incident occurring outside of those hours.
