Ramapo’s field hockey team registered another loss on Saturday in a non-conference game against #14 SUNY Cortland, 3-0. They now have a 3-11 record for the season and remain 0-3 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC).

Junior goalkeeper Michelle Kukan played for the majority of the game. Despite allowing three goals, she also saved 12 shots on goals. Sophomore goalkeeper Erika Roura took over in net for the final eight minutes of the game, making four saves. Junior defender Juliana Mikulski, freshman midfielder Rachel Geller and sophomore defender Maddie Kulik saved three other shots on goal from the Red Dragons.

The Roadrunners did not have much action on the field, making no shots throughout the game. However, Cortland played a strong game, tallying 27 shots and 22 shots on goal.

The first goal of the game came early with Cortland forward Jamie Snyder hitting one in the net off a deflection in the third minute, assisted by forward Keirra Ettere. Snyder scored the second goal for the Red Dragons off a loose ball eight minutes later with an assist from forward Gianna Trunfio.

Kukan kept Cortland out of the goal again until the 35th minute when Ettere scored the third goal unassisted off a loose ball from a save.

The Roadrunners will play in another NJAC matchup against #12 Rowan University at home on Saturday at 7 p.m.
