‘Outer Banks’ newest season excites viewers once again

The new season of “Outer Banks” is here, but not all the way here. This new season is going to be dropped in parts on Netflix. The first part was released on Oct. 10 and the second part will be available on Nov. 7.

Now for what you’ve been waiting for. The scene is set and for some this will seem familiar, as we open on John B. Rutledge (Chase Stokes), the main character, standing on top of a roof drinking beer. John B’s group of friends, “The Pogues,” have been through the wringer and this new season still has them in the thick of it.

The Pogues were living the dream after finding the lost city of El Dorado last season, but it had to come with a price. Both of the main characters, John B and Sarah Cameron (Madelyn Cline), lost their fathers in the process of finding El Dorado. Their fathers had sacrificed themselves so that the Pogues were able to continue with their lives and explorations.

This season, many changes have been made where the Pogues want to do something that they have always dreamed of: “going full kook.” Meaning, the Pogues are living the good life after they found El Dorado because they were able to bring their findings back to the Outer Banks. They were praised by the town because they did the unthinkable, to the point where people thought they had died last season. They were just six teenagers who wanted to go on a little treasure hunt.

They weren’t going to sit around and just live off of those findings. Pope Heyward (Johnathan Davis) was smart and decided that he was going to be in charge of how they financed the money. However, JJ (Rudy Pankow) had other plans and spent most of the money to get his home back. In order to save themselves The Pogues needed to start their business and try to gain profit. However, it ended up being too much and they now needed to find a new way to get money.

So, their luck was at an all-time low and in order to get the money back, Wes Genrette (David Jensen), gave them a reason to get back into the “g-game.” He offered them money to get an amulet back from his ancestors that would help save him from a curse that was hunting his family.

Along with the downsides of starting a new expedition, if you are a natural treasure hunter, there will be people after you. Every season, including this new season, the Pogues have had someone on their tail. The gang was on the fence if they wanted to get back in the “g-game” because they were not trying to risk their lives again if they did not have any previous intel.

Despite trying to be rational and think their way through this new expedition, JJ said that they would take on the challenge. This led to the introduction of a new character, Lightner (Rigo Sanchez), who ran into the Pogues to get some information from them.

The season continues with the Pogues on the search for more information that will help them find Blackbeard’s treasure. The Pogues have faced many challenges and are going to have to fight for their gold and to stay alive.

Part one is jam-packed with action that never seems to end. The danger is also what draws people in and this season is already keeping us on our toes. Tune into five intense episodes that will leave you wanting more.
