International Student Organization hosts an international food night

The International Student Organization (ISO) and Dining Services hosted an International Food Night on Oct. 29, taking students’ taste buds on a trip around the world. Featured at this event were vegetable samosas from India, jollof rice from West Africa, Korean fried chicken, horchata from Mexico and chocolate mousse from France.

In addition to the international bites, students were offered a chance to enter a raffle to win an Arzopa computer monitor, a crocheted potato plushie called a “positive potato” or an Owala water bottle. There were opportunities to win raffle tickets if students checked into the event on Archway, followed ISO’s Instagram account and joined the ISO GroupMe.

In an email interview with The Ramapo News, marketing specialist for dining services Faith Chang emphasized the significance of the event. “We had 600 guests attend the event which is 55 more than our average Tuesday dinner and all seemed pleased with the menu,” she says. “Events like this are also a great way to promote diversity via cultural foods.”
