As for drinks, there were a variety of bubble teas offered. People could choose taro, matcha, thai or brown sugar milk tea with boba. There was also a mango green tea that came with lychee jelly, for those who could not have dairy.
Throughout the night there were many activities, such as the Random Dance Play where people would follow along to the choreography of various K-Pop idol groups, Quizizz where people tested their knowledge of Asian culture and Line Dancing to end the night.
Aside from these main activities, the RCNJ Rhythm Games Club hosted a rhythm gaming booth. People could also play ddakji, a traditional Korean game where people throw folded paper tiles at one on the floor to try to flip it.
The event provided an opportunity for students to learn more about Asian culture while experiencing some interesting dishes for the first time.

Breakfast of Champions’ honors first generation students’ accomplishments
The First-Generation Student Center celebrated First-Generation College Day on Nov. 8 through their event First-Gen Fuel: Breakfast of Champions. This event brought together the Ramapo community to honor the accomplishments of first-gen students. This event is held annually to commemorate the signing of the Higher Education Act of 1965 by former President Lyndon B. Johnson.
Attendees enjoyed breakfast, received valuable resources and captured memories at a photo booth. Students also responded to prompts, sharing what makes them proud to be first-gen and offering advice to those who will follow. These responses created a powerful display of pride and encouragement, building a sense of community and support.
Isabella Taveras, a sophomore first-gen student, shared “The breakfast was a generous gesture that went beyond just providing a meal. It created a space where we could connect and build a sense of community. For many of us, it was a reminder that we’re not alone in our journey. As first-generation students, having that support and belonging is invaluable; it turns the challenge of navigating college into something we face together as a family.”
