Outfit suggestions for a job interview

As the beginning of a new semester looms ever closer, students are preparing for job and internship interviews. Although your outfit may be the last thing on your mind as you try to calm your nerves, here are some helpful tips, from high-end clothing brands to your everyday stores, to help you prepare.

For a classic look, that has even been shown on Catwalks during fashion week, try a button-down shirt and black trousers paired with a black blazer.

The boxy blazers, which were big in the '70s and '80s, are making a big comeback in the fashion world. If you are more fashion-minded, try to pair your dress, or jumpsuit, with a complementary blazer, which you could find at Mango and Chelsea28.

You can never forget the classic white blouse that goes in and with every outfit. You may want to buy a white button-down shirt to put under a blazer, or tucked into trousers or a skirt, which are easily available at H&M. Marshalls has a big variety of blazers from $19.99 in plaid, knit, leopard, and a ton more styles as well.

Snake print booties will add a pop of color and print to a basic monochromatic color suit or dress. Urban Outfitters sells for $79 a UO Alana Snakeskin Boot, or a little bit more on the higher end is the Croc Embossed Square Toe Boots for $179 by &Other Stories. For a signature look, it is all about glossy boots. For an even cheaper buy, one may go to H&M for black ankle boots for $50.

Mock croc bags are also super in. On the lower price level, you may go to Urban Outfitters or Topshop, which you can see by the $39 Nellie Crossbody bag. Mango carries the Croc-Effect Baguette Bag for $40. You also may need a little bit of glam and shine in your outfit, so shop online for jewelry to accent your outfit. Jules Smith carries a $70 chain necklace, that is to die for! Or you can buy a Double Link Collar necklace by Halogen.

Here at Ramapo College, the Cahill Center will soon open a career closet where business and business casual clothing will be available for students. The closet will open soon, so stay in the know so you can get clothes for an interview soon.
