Ramapo College was listed in the top 10 for New Jersey colleges in GradReports’ 2021 Best College rankings. This rating is based on median entry career salary data of over four million graduates from College Scorecard, the U.S. Department of Education’s collection resource.

With an annual tuition of $14,374 and a salary score of 65.91, Ramapo is ranked as the 10th best college in the state for affordability and graduate success.

“Ramapo’s salary score is above the national average, so we believe this makes [Ramapo] a strong institution nationally as well,” GradReports outreach specialist Sarah Glass said. “Although tuition was not a factor in determining Salary Score, we included tuition numbers as a helpful addition to compare other schools on the list. Ramapo is definitely one of the more affordable options.”

The top of the New Jersey Best College list is Princeton University, along with other private universities such as Stevens Institute of Technology and Seton Hall University.

“Most of the schools in the top ten are private universities, so Ramapo is one of the exceptions,” Glass said.

Another note is Ramapo’s size: with an undergraduate enrollment of fewer than six thousand students, Ramapo is usually marked as a “hidden gem” at open houses due to its rather small community and nooked location.

However, small colleges commonly shine in comparison to bigger schools due to their affordability and niche networking opportunities, according to Glass.

“A bigger school doesn’t always mean a bigger salary,” she said. “Ramapo and the other schools in the top 10 (excluding Rutgers) have reported enrollments around 10,000 students or way under. I would imagine that students interested in smaller schools would enjoy seeing this statistic.”

This placement notes Ramapo College as one of the top schools in the state, beating out other institutions such as Montclair State University, William Paterson University, Rowan University and Stockton University.
