Track and field competes in Fasttrack Last Chance Invitational

Ramapo’s men and women’s track and field teams traveled to the Fasttrack Last Chance Invitational in Staten Island, N.Y. on Feb. 28. 

For men’s track and field, junior Ryan Pena finished the mile run with a time of 4:20.49. 

Roadrunner Ndubuisi Okeh finished in second place for the 60m dash in 7.19 seconds. In seventh place, junior Anthony Gentile finished in 7.33 seconds with Terrell Locket close behind finishing in 7.34 seconds, taking ninth place.

Junior Braden Holm finished with a 14.67m weight throw, snagging him a sixth place finish. Freshman Ethan Murry landed a 10th place finish after he cleared the 60m hurdles in 9.13 seconds. 

With a team made up of Logan Natale, Mark Shinkorenko, Lockett and Gentile, the Roadrunners finished second with a time of 3:20.7 in the 4x400m relay. 

For women’s track and field senior Zoey Cassavell finished the mile run in 5:12.74, scoring the third-best time in the program’s history. 

Sophomore Ashley Gordon finished the 60m dash in 7.98, finishing in 11th place. Roadrunner Jianna Gorospe placed 10th in the 200m event with an overall time of 26.56 seconds. 

In the long jump, freshman Bryanna Shepperson cleared 4.76 meters. 

Ramapo track and field will return this weekend on March 7 and 8 to travel to Ithaca College for the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference championships.
