Wellness room open house encourages students to de-stress

Ramapo’s Wellness Room hosted a welcoming and relaxing open house on Thursday, Nov. 7. Hosted by the Wellness Is Now Peer Educators, visitors were able to get an idea of what to expect after booking an appointment, as well as being encouraged to use the space.

The Wellness Room, in E-216, according to its website, is meant to “provide mental, spiritual, and emotional support resources for Ramapo students, and will be able to be accessed throughout the day and in the evening while other campus offices are closed.”

The space features a massage chair, bins with reflection card games and coloring books along with different mindfulness exercises and motivational quotes on their walls. A tea station is also available to help students feel more relaxed. Visitors were able to take their time exploring the room and taking the time to relax.

Students are allowed to book appointments with the Wellness Room from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays, with varying hours on weekends. The Wellness Room provides a calming environment for all students on campus to forget about their stressors and take a break for a while.
