Commuter Affairs held a Color Me Spring event in J. Lee’s this past Monday where students could relax and color in some spring-themed coloring sheets.
Offered on a table when students first walked in, there were several different kinds of coloring sheets for students to choose from. Most pictured cute animals doing ordinary human things, like fishing or enjoying a picnic. Alongside these adorable sheets were markers, crayons and colored pencils for students to use while they colored.
Commuter affairs throw many arts and crafts events like this over the course of the school year.
“We try to have them at least twice a semester, not only because they’re easier on us, with midterms and everything like that, but we find that some kids actually enjoy it, even if they don’t stay for the event,” said Sharleen Lee, Commuter Affairs Student Manager, who assisted in organizing the event.
Lee also mentioned that students love to stop by the events and grab coloring sheets to complete later in the case that they could not attend the entire event.
“We’ve done coloring, we’ve done building your own vision board, we’ve done coloring a picture frame,” Lee said. “This is something we’ve done in different variations, so it’s not like a coloring event, but we kind of classify this as one of our crafts events.”
These yearly events are no stranger to Ramapo students, and they can continue to look forward to fun activities from Commuter Affairs through Spring Break.
